According to the Richmond Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 2:47 a.m. on North 18th Street. An officer already in the vicinity witnessed a large street fight and speeding vehicles before discovering Jones suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but she was pronounced deceased at the scene. Jackson was later confirmed as the second fatality.
Police reported that nine individuals, ranging in age from 23 to 42, sustained gunshot injuries during the incident. Among the wounded, four men and three women suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while one woman was reported in critical condition. Four victims were transported by ambulance, while three others arrived at hospitals via private vehicles.
