The Ottawa community is mourning the tragic loss of 19-year-old Majed Al-Ar, who was fatally shot near Manotick on Wednesday afternoon, marking the city’s third homicide of the year. The incident has left family, friends, and residents in shock as authorities continue their investigation.
Police reported that the shooting occurred on Bankfield Road near Prince of Wales Drive. Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 4:30 p.m., and Al-Ar was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his wounds. A second man was also hospitalized and is reported to be in stable condition.
