A 26-year-old woman, Germiran Bryson, was arrested after allegedly attempting to abandon her 2-year-old dog at Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport. Surveillance footage captured Bryson tying her dog to a baggage handler when she was unable to provide the required documentation to bring the animal aboard a JetBlue flight.

Las Vegas Woman Arrested

Police responded to Terminal 3 around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 2 following reports that a dog had been left at the JetBlue ticket counter. Bryson, who had failed to produce the proper service dog documentation, proceeded toward her departure gate, claiming her dog would find her because it had a tracking device. Authorities later located Bryson at Gate D1, where she reportedly became hostile and resisted arrest.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department booked Bryson on charges of animal abandonment, resisting arrest, and providing a false statement or obstructing a public officer. Misdemeanor charges meant she was not required to post bond, and her next court date was scheduled for March 31.

The abandoned dog, a golden doodle/mini poodle mix, was cared for by airport staff and animal control before being taken in by Retriever Rescue of Las Vegas after Bryson failed to claim him during the 10-day hold period. The rescue organization renamed him “JetBlue” and placed him in foster care.

Animal advocates expressed concern over the dog’s wellbeing, stating that JetBlue had already inspired a surge of adoption applications. Rescue officials emphasized careful vetting to ensure he never experiences abandonment again.

JetBlue’s story has highlighted the importance of proper documentation for traveling service animals and the consequences of animal abandonment, while offering hope for a new, loving home for the pup.
