Death and Obituary of Kent Schultz, Osage, Iowa The loss of Kent Schultz, a highly regarded retired teacher, basketball coach, and beloved friend whose death has caused great suffering over generations, is grief in the Osage, Iowa community. Many people knew Kent as "Mr. Schultz," but he was far more than an instructor or coach. Beyond the confines of classrooms and gymnasiums, his impact extended well. He was a mentor, a continuous source of encouragement, and a really kind-hearted person.
Kent's educational career touched many lives all through. A basketball coach and educator, he was famous for his integrity, patience, and relentless belief in the possibilities of every student. His influence did not diminish over years. Years after graduation, former pupils and athletes still looked him up to swap memories, news, and thanks for helping to mold their life. Kent found great happiness from these meetings. His arrogance stemmed from the silent contentment of knowing he had really changed things rather than from honors.
Retirement didn't much slow Kent down. Rather, it launched a fresh chapter of community link and service. Through his participation with Twisted River Farm over four years, he became indispensable to the Clear Lake Farmers Market. What started out as basic assistance at a booth soon became much more profound. Kent grew to be family, adding reliability, humor, and warmth every market day. His presence affected not only the farm team but also consumers and other merchants who grew to know and love him.
Morning markets developed into revered traditions. Kent loaded in the dark, laughing and betting amicably on who would sell the most produce before daylight. The drive would diverge near Manly; Kent headed toward Clear Lake whereas others went for Mason City; later, they would gather to discuss experiences and contrast the day's achievements. For people who shared those times, cooling off in the shop—discussing fishing expeditions, garden projects, and little adventures—memories are now held close.
Kent never wavered in his caring for others. He checked in frequently during the off-season, calling or texting merely to say hello and convey how much he missed the market. He always had his beloved neighborhood in mind and sent pictures from farmers markets he visited while traveling. One phone call was sufficient whenever assistance was required in the fields. Kent arrived right away prepared to weed, harvest, plant, or otherwise offer assistance needed.
A rare sight, Kent Schultz was giving of his time, genuine in his sympathy, and unyielding in his devotion to people and community. He was always a teacher, a coach at heart, and a buddy to everyone. His legacy lives on in the students he mentored, the athletes he inspired, and the many lives he impacted across Iowa. Deep thanks, love, and respect will remember him.
