The Franklin County community is grieving the untimely passing of 56-year-old Bryan Radford of Hopkinsville, who passed Saturday, January 31, 2026, during an officer-involved shooting in Frankfort.

Kentucky State Police say officers from the Frankfort Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office answered to a gunfire report at a residence on Ridgeview Drive just before 6 p.m. According to Radford, he entered the home carrying a pistol. Law enforcement officials shot Radford, who was declared dead at the site. Neither officer suffered an injury in the event.
