Beloved 14-Year-Old Nathan Thomas Snyder Dies in I-69 Pedestrian Crash

 The Newburgh community is mourning the tragic loss of Nathan Thomas Snyder, a 14-year-old whose promising life was cut short in a fatal pedestrian crash early Monday morning. According to the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office, Nathan was struck on Interstate 69 near the Covert Avenue exit, around the 4.8-mile marker at approximately 1:16 a.m. 

Deputies were first called for a report of someone walking in the roadway, followed by another call indicating a pedestrian had been hit. Despite the quick response, Nathan succumbed to his injuries. An autopsy has been completed, with results pending.

Nathan’s passing has left an enormous void in the hearts of his family, friends, classmates, and the wider community. At just 14, Nathan was at the beginning of life’s journey—full of curiosity, promise, and dreams.
