 Authorities have announced that Sarah Johnston, a 22-year-old female who was reported missing earlier this month, has been found dead.

Currently, officials have provided only a small amount of information concerning the details surrounding her death.

Investigators are requesting that the community keep her family and friends in their thoughts and to share any information that could help with the ongoing inquiry.

Johnston had been unaccounted for in Knox County since January 7, 2026.

As per the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, she was last observed in the 1100 block of Copperwood Lane.

She was officially reported as missing just after midnight on Friday.

Authorities indicated that Johnston struggled with personal issues that might have hindered her from returning home safely on her own.

It is unclear whether she departed her home on foot or obtained a ride from someone else, as she did not possess a car.

Officials also mentioned that they were unaware of her clothing at the time she went missing.

Johnston was noted to have a unique heart-shaped tattoo located near her left eye, a characteristic that was emphasized in prior public requests for information.
