 The Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department regrets deeply to report the death of High School Fire Academy Recruit Jaycob Hall, 18, who died from injuries sustained in a serious traffic crash while off-duty on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

His untimely passing has touched family, friends, classmates, and fellow recruits who admired his fortitude, character, and dedication; waves of mourning have spread across the neighborhood.

As a part of High School Fire Academy 7, Jaycob started with Stafford County Fire and Rescue in July 2025 and immediately distinguished himself by his drive, self-control, and willingness to serve.

He showed an extraordinary level of ability, professionalism, and aspiration at such a young age, successfully finishing his Hazardous Materials Operations certification during his time in the program and actively working towards his Firefighter I certification.

Teachers recall him as a concentrated and reliable newcomer whose energy and interest motivated others.Jaycob, a senior at Stafford High School, matched his love of public service with his academic obligations.

Hardworking, respectful, and ambitious, he is always ready to help others and step forward when required, according to teachers and classmates.His colleagues respected his capacity to unite people, both in the classroom and throughout Fire Academy drills, as well as his leadership.

Friends remember Jaycob for his contagious excitement, warm personality, and compassionate heart.Whether joking, providing advice, or just being there, he naturally made others feel valued and motivated.

Those who knew him say he was brave, compassionate, and reliable—a young guy whose deeds showed a great sense of responsibility to his society.
