Huntington, IN News – Rochelle Meyers Case Leaves Community Mourning Ken and Melanie Meyers

Officials have found a married pair who were discovered dead on Tuesday night in what is being looked into as a suspected murder-suicide.

Huntington, IN News Rochelle Meyers

Responding at around ten p.m. to a property on West Maple Grove Road in Dallas Township after family members said they had not seen the couple for some time, the Indiana State Police and the Huntington County Coroner’s Office arrived just before ten p.m. According a press statement from the coroner, the pair's car was left on the property, which raised questions.

When Huntington County Sheriff's Department deputies came, they found a man and a woman dead on a lower-level floor of the property, which was not the couple's main residence. Investigators discovered evidence suggesting the two had been at the scene for some time and had both suffered gunshot wounds.

The couple was 51-year-old Melanie R. Meyers and 54-year-old Kenneth L. Meyers, Huntington residents both. The coroner determined Melanie Meyers' death a homicide and Kenneth Meyers' death a suicide.

On Wednesday morning, autopsies were carried out at a forensic center in Fort Wayne. Authorities claim the inquiry is still underway as they try to put the events leading to the deaths together.

Local police and the Huntington County Coroner's Office keep advising anybody with information about the case to step forth.

This terrible event underlines how seriously family conflicts are taken, and authorities remind people of resources available for those going through domestic or relationship-related crises.
