 The community of Greenville is grieving the sudden and tragic death of Daniel Evans, 26, who passed away due to a workplace accident on Saturday morning at Greenville Steel.

As per the Michigan State Police Lakeview Post, the deadly event took place at approximately 11:45 a.m. and involved a rollback flatbed truck. Officials reported that Daniel was assisting another worker in delivering a scrapped forklift when he became trapped between the truck's cab and the flatbed. The injuries he sustained were critical, and he was declared dead at the location.

Emergency personnel and investigators arrived promptly after the accident occurred. The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) intervened and initiated an investigation in collaboration with the Michigan State Police. Authorities established that the flatbed truck belonged to J&A Towing of Belding and that Greenville Steel was not involved in the unloading process when the incident happened.
