The Big Spring community is grieving the unfortunate death of 25-year-old Christian Perez, who tragically lost his life in a car accident early Sunday morning. The Big Spring Police Department reported that officers were dispatched around 12:06 a.m. to the area of the 900 block of Father Delaney Street, where they found a black 2021 GMC Sierra pickup that had collided with a concrete wall after veering off the road. Justice of the Peace Campbell declared Christian dead at the scene and informed his family.
The initial investigation indicated that Christian was driving west at a high speed when he lost control of the truck, resulting in it straying off the roadway and crashing into the wall. Three individuals accompanying him—19-year-old Josue Hernandez, 23-year-old Willy Gonzales-Solis, and 19-year-old Erixon Roblero—were taken to Scenic Mountain Medical Center for medical attention. Given the seriousness of their injuries, Hernandez and Solis were subsequently airlifted to Lubbock for additional treatment. Officials have stated that the investigation is still ongoing.
