The Shenandoah community is grieving the devastating loss of 19-year-old Aliyah Parker, who perished in a traffic accident on Interstate 80.
Authorities say Aliyah was traveling westward on I-80 in a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu when she lost command of her car and rear-ended the semi-truck's trailer, also heading westbound. An early inquiry found that the apparent cause of the accident was driving too swiftly for road conditions. Pronounced dead at the scene, Aliyah suffered fatal wounds.
Officials are seeking for witnesses to come forward by calling the Traffic Unit at 712-328-4948 as the inquiry into the collision is still continuing.
Family, friends, and the Shenandoah community all recall Aliyah Parker as a young woman with her whole life still to come. Those who knew and loved her will find a great empty space in their life after her unexpected death. Though her life was tragically cut short, Aliyah's memory will live on via the love, compassion, and light she brought to others.
