Allen Park Deadly Shooting: Ongoing Shooter, Footage reveals individual shot dead in incident involving officers in Allen Park

 An investigation is currently ongoing regarding a shooting involving law enforcement that occurred after a confrontation on Sunday afternoon near the intersection of Southfield Road and Dix Highway, in proximity to a 7 Brew Coffee shop, as reported by local officials.

According to police, officers were sent to the vicinity of 14800 Southfield Road in response to reports about a person armed with a weapon. Upon their arrival, they came across an adult male reportedly wielding a box cutter.

Officials stated that the police made several attempts to reduce tension in the situation, providing verbal instructions and demanding that the man lay down the weapon. Footage from the incident indicates that law enforcement persisted in these attempts even as the individual approached them.

Law enforcement noted that the individual ignored the commands and continued to advance while still brandishing the knife. Subsequently, officers fired their weapons, hitting the suspect several times.

The man was apprehended at the location and was taken to a hospital for medical care. His health status has not been disclosed. There were no injuries reported among the officers involved in this incident.
