Riverwood Lethal Shooting: Individual Wounded by Gunfire and Knife in Alleged Surprise Attack in Sydney, NSW

 A man is in the process of healing after sustaining two gunshot wounds and being stabbed, which authorities suspect was a deliberate attack in Riverwood, located in the south-west of Sydney.

The event transpired late on Sunday night, as local residents reported sounds of gunfire in a neighborhood in Riverwood. According to police, the individual, despite his serious injuries, was able to make his way to a hospital, where he is currently undergoing medical care.

Investigators suspect that the man was set upon by one or more assailants, although the reason behind this act is still under scrutiny. His wounds are currently assessed as not posing a threat to his life.

Officers from the St George Police Area Command have created a crime scene in Riverwood, sealing off the vicinity where the gunfire occurred. Forensic specialists are examining the location for clues, while detectives are analyzing CCTV recordings and talking to potential witnesses.

Authorities reported that no arrests have been made so far and are encouraging anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual to come forward.

"This seems to be an intentional attack," a police representative stated. "We are seeking to identify everyone involved and reconstruct the events leading up to the incident."
