Rita Loncharich Palm Beach Gardens, Fla Attack: Rita Loncharich Mortally Wounded by Stabbing Within Palm Beach Gardens Barnes & Noble, Individual Taken into Custody

 A serene Monday night turned into a tragedy when a woman was fatally wounded with a knife inside a Barnes & Noble bookstore in Palm Beach Gardens, as reported by law enforcement officials. This shocking act of violence has disturbed shoppers, staff members, and the nearby community while investigators are trying to find out what triggered the fatal incident.

According to the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, the stabbing took place around 7:53 p.m. on December 22 at the bookstore situated at 11380 Legacy Avenue. Officers were sent to the location after receiving reports about a stabbing occurring within the premises. Upon their arrival, they discovered a woman with serious stab injuries and promptly initiated lifesaving efforts.

The victim was later named as 65-year-old Rita B. Loncharich. She was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition by Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue. Despite the dedication of first responders and medical personnel, Loncharich succumbed to her wounds. Police confirmed her passing later that evening and informed her family.

Individuals who were present in the store reported to investigators that the suspect stabbed Loncharich and then escaped the scene on foot. The unexpected act of aggression triggered chaos among shoppers and employees, many of whom were inside the store during the incident. Officers quickly secured the area and began to look for the suspect based on descriptions provided by witnesses.

Detectives have identified the alleged assailant as 40-year-old Antonio R. Moore. Authorities stated that Moore was apprehended shortly after the stabbing. Details regarding his location at the time of capture and whether he had any prior acquaintance with Loncharich have not been revealed. Currently, investigators have not shared any information about a potential motive behind the assault.
