Purdue University law enforcement is carrying out an investigation into a fatality after a woman was discovered dead on Wednesday afternoon at Horticulture Park, situated on the western side of the Purdue campus.

Purdue Police Captain Song Kang reported that officers were dispatched to the location following a notification regarding an unresponsive person. When they arrived, they found the remains and contacted the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office at 1:44 p.m. Captain Kang indicated that there is no current risk to the public, and the area has been secured in alignment with routine investigative measures.

The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the individual who passed away was a woman in her twenties.

Coroner Carrie Costello mentioned that the office is actively conducting an inquiry to ascertain the cause and manner of death. A forensic autopsy is set to take place on Friday.
