Marcus commenced his path with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in April 2024 at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center located in Galt. 

He successfully completed the Basic Correctional Officer Academy with distinction, impressing both instructors and fellow trainees with his concentration, determination, and dedication to the profession. Assigned to CSP-Sacramento in July 2024, Marcus soon earned a reputation for his dependability, tranquil nature, and eagerness to assist his team during difficult situations. While his time in the role was short-lived, his dedication and professionalism made a significant impact on everyone fortunate enough to work with him, illustrating the considerable difference one person can make in public service.
