Authorities have confirmed that the individual discovered deceased last Friday on Grace Road was Dr. Marc Joshua Kleinberg, a well-respected physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology in Illinois. He was 52 years of age. Officials have indicated that the circumstances surrounding his death suggest it may have been suicide.
Dr. Kleinberg, who had long been affiliated with the Association for Women’s Health Care, was recognized for being an outstanding clinician, celebrated for his empathy, steadfastness, and dedication to his patients’ health. His untimely death has resulted in an overwhelming expression of sorrow from peers, patients, and the wider medical establishment.

In a communication, the Association for Women’s Health Care expressed their “deep sorrow” regarding the abrupt and unforeseen loss of their colleague.

Dr. Kleinberg provided care to patients in Northbrook and Chicago while also serving as an educator at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. During his over twenty years in medicine, he gained recognition for his knowledge and kindness, positively affecting countless families.
His family described him as modest, loving, and wholly dedicated to his family. Dr. Kleinberg was a fan of the New York Yankees, a passionate supporter of Duke University, and an avid gardener. Above everything, he was cherished as a proud husband and father who enhanced the lives of everyone around him.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Elise Kleinberg; his children, Evie and Ben; his mother, Sheila; his siblings, Adam Kleinberg and Amanda Brooks; his in-laws Mel and Robin Kleinman; as well as numerous relatives, friends, and colleagues. He was also affectionately known as a devoted “dog dad” to Zeke and the late Lady.
Funeral Services and Commemoration
A memorial service for Dr. Kleinberg is scheduled for Monday at 1:00 p.m. CT at The Chapel in Buffalo Grove, with options for online livestreaming. Following this, burial will take place at Shalom Memorial Park.
The family has requested that, instead of flowers, contributions be made to Planned Parenthood, an organization that Dr. Kleinberg supported.
