Long Island Community Mourns Beloved Deli Owners Antonio D’Ambrosio and Angela Pulisciano After Tragic Death
BETHPAGE, NY — The Long Island community is reeling after the shocking deaths of Antonio D’Ambrosio, 70, and Angela Pulisciano, 62, beloved owners of A&A Italian Deli and Pizza. Authorities reported that the couple was allegedly stabbed to death by their 30-year-old son, Vito D’Ambrosio, early Friday morning.
Nassau County police responded to a 911 call around 9:11 a.m. at the deli on Hicksville Road near Boundary Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found Antonio and Angela unresponsive with fatal injuries. Vito D’Ambrosio was taken into custody at the scene and has been charged with first-degree murder. He has pleaded not guilty.
The deli owners were deeply respected by the local community for their decades of dedication to running a family business. For more than 30 years, Tony and Angela served neighbors and customers with care, humility, and genuine warmth. Patrons remember the couple not only for their delicious Italian sandwiches and pizza but also for their kindness, treating everyone as family.
In response to the tragedy, a GoFundMe fundraiser was organized by Angela Pepe to support the surviving children, Angelina D’Ambrosio and siblings, who now face the emotional and financial burdens of losing their parents. The fundraiser emphasizes the couple’s legacy:
"For more than 30 years, Tony and Angela devoted their lives to serving all of us. Straight from Italy, they built their deli with love, humility, and pure dedication. They never overcharged, never complained, and never treated anyone as just a customer. To them, we were all family."
The campaign highlights the challenges the children face, from planning a double funeral to handling unexpected financial hardships. The GoFundMe set a goal of $75,000 and has already raised over $45,000 at the time of this report. Community members and loyal patrons are encouraged to donate and honor the memory of a couple who gave so much to Long Island.
Tony and Angela D’Ambrosio’s legacy continues through the countless lives they touched, the community they nurtured, and the family they loved deeply.
