As reported by the White County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report around 5:45 p.m. on Sunday about a vehicle that had gone into Departee Creek close to Bradford. The authorities responded promptly, and together with the Bradford Fire Department, they entered the water to verify that the vehicle was empty.

Lieutenant Scott Seiders stated that investigators noted several signs indicating the car had been driven into the creek, suggesting that the driver got out afterward. “The ignition was turned on. It was in drive, and the window was rolled down,” said Seiders.

Debris settled at the creek bottom hindered the vehicle from being completely submerged, which enabled deputies to spot the license plate. Captain Clayton Edwards mentioned that officers could identify the owner, which was confirmed to be Moore. Deputies reached out to her relatives and checked her home but were unable to find her.

Following an extensive search that lasted nearly 24 hours, Moore’s body was located a few hundred yards from the boat ramp.

Investigators speculate Moore may have succumbed to an injury related to cold weather, and they do not suspect any foul play. Nonetheless, Seiders indicated that the investigation remains open until the medical examiner provides a definitive conclusion.

Friends and family remember Moore as a compassionate and strong individual who established her life in Searcy after relocating from Pocahontas. Tifani Holt, a former colleague and close friend, referred to her as “a beautiful human being,” reminiscing about the connection they forged while employed at the now-defunct Mixing Bowl restaurant.

In Pocahontas, Dora’s Sale Barn CafĂ© is currently gathering donations to assist with Moore's funeral costs.

As the investigation proceeds, the community stands together in sorrow, commemorating a life taken too soon and offering thoughts and prayers for her family, particularly for her child, during this difficult time.
