The LAPD has responded to a fatal shooting at LACMA along Wilshire Boulevard. The suspect has been taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoin
A significant law enforcement operation took place on Thursday along Wilshire Boulevard after several 911 callers informed authorities about a woman discharging a firearm into the atmosphere near the intersection of Wilshire and Ogden Drive, situated in the bustling museum area that features LACMA and the La Brea Tar Pits.
According to communications overheard from the police, the reports indicated that a female individual had released at least one shot into the air, and later, a bus operator from MTA mentioned that the woman was aiming a weapon at individuals nearby.
Substantial Police Engagement and Aerial Assistance
Numerous units from the LAPD’s Wilshire Division were sent to the scene, and an aerial support team arrived to help with the surveillance from above. Officers rapidly instituted a perimeter around the La Brea Tar Pits due to the high volume of pedestrians and its closeness to prominent cultural sites.
A bullet casing was discovered at Wilshire and Ogden, which led to more units being deployed to secure that intersection. Investigators requested crime scene tape to maintain the area for further examination.
Search and Detainment
As law enforcement officials searched the nearby streets, LAPD personnel ultimately came across an individual who possibly fit the description given by witnesses. After observing her actions, officers approached carefully and apprehended the suspect without any additional problems.
Investigation In Progress
Authorities have not disclosed the suspect’s name or any likely reasons behind the event. There have been no immediate reports of any injuries.
LAPD detectives are actively examining statements from witnesses and collecting evidence from the location. Anyone with further details is encouraged to reach out to the Wilshire Division.
