On December 5, 2025, Josiel tragically died in a train incident in Avondale, Arizona, leaving a community in disbelief and mourning. At only 15 years of age, Josiel had already made a significant impact on the lives of classmates, educators, and friends through his lively spirit, infectious grin, and commitment to his school and fellow students.

Josiel was not just a pupil; he was a young individual brimming with potential and promise. As part of The Band of Owls, he exhibited enthusiasm, dedication, and collaboration, winning the respect of his peers and teachers.
