Jacksonville, FL – An arrest has been made involving a 17-year-old following a fatal domestic encounter that resulted in the death of his father in the Westside of the city, according to officials who announced this on Wednesday.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) arrived at the scene after getting calls about a stabbing occurring at a home on Wheeler Avenue close to Blanding Boulevard at approximately 7 p.m. on December 2, 2025. When they arrived, officers encountered 42-year-old Jervas Williams who had sustained several stab wounds. Despite the attempts of emergency personnel, he was declared deceased at the location.

Detectives specializing in homicide promptly initiated an inquiry, gathering evidence and interviewing people who were at the residence. Their investigation led to identifying the victim's son, Syr Williams, as the suspect. The teenager was taken into custody in the early hours of December 3, 2025, and is presently held at Duval County Jail while the investigation proceeds.
