Herbert B. Thomas, Jr. Randallstown, Maryland Incident: A 67-Year-Old Passed Away After a House Blaze at His Residence on the 3800 Block of Cherrybrook Road

Emergency fire crews arrived at the location around 10:14 p.m. and discovered flames raging from both the front and back of the house. At one point during the emergency, Mr. Thomas managed to exit the residence safely. Demonstrating great courage and kindness, he went back indoors in an attempt to rescue his cherished dogs. Unfortunately, Mr. Thomas and his two dogs were later found together inside the house, having perished in the fire.

Investigators from the Baltimore County Police Department later concluded that the fire started accidentally due to cooking that was left unattended. This tragic event marks the fourth fatality related to fires in Baltimore County in 2025 and serves as a stark reminder of how swiftly everyday activities can escalate into catastrophic events.
