De'Kerrio Jamontez Cobb Death Announcement: Community Grieves for 18-Year-Old Shot Dead at East Macon Gas Station
The Macon community is mourning the devastating loss of 18-year-old De’Kerrio Jamontez Cobb, who was shot and killed on Wednesday at a gas station in East Macon.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones reported that the incident took place at the Citgo gas station situated at 1904 Shurling Drive. According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were sent to the location after a 911 call came in at 11:57 a.m. When they arrived, deputies discovered Cobb unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Bibb County Deputy Coroner Luanne Stone declared him dead at the scene.
Shortly after 1 p.m., the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office published surveillance footage of a person of interest believed to have a connection to the shooting. Investigators are seeking the public's assistance in identifying this individual while they strive to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
Sergeant Christopher Williams from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office called upon anyone with information to step forward. “Regardless of how significant or trivial your information might seem, it could contribute to solving the case that our violent crime unit is currently pursuing,” stated Williams.
Friends, family, and community members are remembering De’Kerrio as a young man whose life ended far too soon. His passing has left those close to him devastated and looking for answers as they grieve the loss of someone who had a bright future ahead.
