Deeric Mario Richardson Obituary Update: Marion Individual Recognized as Casualty in Florence Flat Gunfire

 Authorities have named Deeric Mario Richardson, 33, from Marion, as the individual who was shot in an incident that took place on Monday morning at an apartment complex in Florence.


Coroner Keith von Lutcken verified that Richardson passed away at the location. An autopsy is planned for Monday at the Medical University of South Carolina to establish the formal cause of death.

In relation to the shooting, police have taken Terry Clark, 21, from Johnsonville, into custody. He faces charges of murder and illegal possession of a firearm during a violent offense. Clark was apprehended at a nearby home shortly after the event. He is presently being held without bail at the Florence County Detention Center.


Officials indicated that the shooting transpired around 11:15 a.m. at the Oaks at Florence apartments, situated in the 300 block of Royal Street. Law enforcement characterized the incident as a “targeted” shooting, emphasizing that it occurred after a previous altercation between Clark and Richardson. Authorities stated that Clark confronted Richardson at the apartment and shot him, leading to Richardson's death being declared at the scene.

Currently, no additional information regarding the investigation has been made available as police continue their inquiries.

This heartbreaking incident has caused family, friends, and the Florence community to grieve the loss of Deeric Mario Richardson.
