Gulfport law enforcement is probing a case following the fatality of a man amid an alleged break-in.
As reported by The Sun Herald, the event took place in the 1700 block of 21st Street on December 11, 2025.
Officials have stated that an individual entered the residence wielding a hammer and a knife, subsequently assaulting two females. It was mentioned that one of the women suffered wounds from the knife, whereas the other woman was able to obtain a gun and fired at the intruder.
Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer has confirmed the identity of the deceased as Dangelo Rayjvon Murphy, who was 29 years old. Authorities revealed that Murphy was on bail during the time of the home invasion, facing charges related to the alleged abduction of one of the women.
The inquiry into the shooting is still active.
