The community of Indianapolis is grieving the heartbreaking loss of 29-year-old Brittany Nicole Kavanaugh, who was shot and killed early Saturday morning in the southern part of the city. As reported by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers arrived at the 200 block of East Troy Avenue at approximately 6:46 a.m. in response to calls about a shooting.

Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered Brittany inside a building, suffering from injuries indicative of a gunshot wound. She was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition; however, despite the medical interventions, she unfortunately passed away from her injuries. The Marion County Coroner’s Office confirmed her identity on Monday.

The investigation into the events leading to Brittany's death is ongoing, with authorities yet to disclose any information related to a suspect or motive.
