Boston law enforcement is looking into a stabbing that took place early Wednesday morning on the grounds of Boston Medical Center, resulting in serious injuries to a staff member.
Officials stated that they were alerted around 2 a.m. about a stabbing near 850 Harrison Avenue, which is the primary location of the hospital. As reported by the police, the injured staff member managed to get to the hospital by themselves and was discovered to have sustained life-threatening injuries.
In a statement made public on Wednesday morning, a representative of Boston Medical Center verified that the event occurred on the premises of the hospital and confirmed that the individual hurt is part of the hospital’s workforce.
"The hospital remains operational and is open as usual," the representative remarked. "Boston Medical Center regards situations like this with utmost seriousness, and the safety and health of our patients and staff members are our highest concern."
