Ava Claire Hageman Mount Pleasant, TX Obituary, Cause of Death: The family is grieving the passing of Ava Claire Hageman, who took her own life.

The Mount Pleasant community is mourning the death of Ava Claire Hageman, aged 13, who passed away this past weekend. Officials have verified that her death was a suicide, leading to a wave of grief and support from her peers, teachers, and neighbors.

Ava Claire was the child of Jennifer Hageman and a cherished sister to Holland. She attended both Chapel Hill Junior High School (CHJH) and the Mount Pleasant Junior High School community, where she was noted for her lively personality and the connections she formed with her friends.

Her passing has had a profound impact on students, families, and school personnel, who recall Ava Claire for the happiness she spread among those she encountered.

Services to honor her life will take place on Thursday, December 11th, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant.

In tribute to Ava Claire, her family has asked for donations in lieu of floral arrangements. The contributions will be allocated for revitalizing Dellwood Park and constructing a community pool — a space intended to embody joy, connection, and unity in remembrance of Ava. Contributions can be made via Pilgrim’s Bank by calling Tisha at 903-434-2012, asking for Jason Snodgrass, or engaging with any teller at the bank.

The Hageman family expressed their appreciation for the kindness and support provided by the community during this incredibly challenging period.

The funeral arrangements are being managed by Bates-Cooper Sloan Funeral Home.
