Alta Veasley Obituary News: A woman from Southwest Houston has been tragically killed by her son, Gerren Crosson, who is now in police custody.
A man is currently in custody facing a murder accusation after officials allege that he fatally stabbed his mother in a home located in Southwest Houston during the early hours of Wednesday.
As reported by the Houston Police Department, officers were dispatched to a house on Harristown Drive, situated near West Orem Drive and Green Colling Park Drive, around 2:30 a.m. due to reports of a stabbing incident.
Upon their arrival, the officers discovered a 71-year-old woman, later identified through court documents as Alta Veasley, with multiple stab wounds. Authorities indicated that Veasley was alert at the scene and informed the officers that her son was the one who had attacked her.
Veasley was taken to a local hospital for urgent medical care. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
Police found 34-year-old Gerren Crosson inside the residence and initially took him into custody. Following a thorough investigation and discussion with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Crosson was officially charged with murder.
Court documents indicate that as of Thursday evening, Crosson is still held in the Harris County Jail, with his bond amounting to $750,000.
