Alexandra Wynter California, Chico Obituary News: At the age of 28, Alexandra Wynter, a student at Chico State University, has passed away.

 The community at the University of California, Chico is mourning the tragic passing of 28-year-old Alexandra Wynter, a student majoring in biological sciences whose life ended in what authorities suspect was a murder-suicide.

 This heartbreaking occurrence has left classmates, professors, coworkers, and family members in profound disbelief as they grieve a young woman celebrated for her intelligence, empathy, and commitment to aiding others. Alexandra's life was abruptly ended on Thursday, December 3, in a tragedy that has deeply impacted the Chico community.

Authorities were summoned to a residence on the 1200 block of Warner Street at around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday after receiving reports about a disturbance.

 Upon their arrival at the scene, officers found both a male and a female deceased. Although the names of the deceased have not yet been officially disclosed, Chico State President Steve Perez confirmed on Thursday that the woman who lost her life was Alexandra, sharing this heartbreaking information in a heartfelt letter to the entire campus. He referred to the loss as “deeply painful,” extending sincere sympathies to her friends and family while recognizing the immense sadness that has enveloped the university.

President Perez indicated that this tragic event is thought to be linked to domestic violence, introducing an additional layer of heartbreak as the community grapples with the implications of how such violence could end the life of a cherished student. 

He encouraged students who are impacted by this news to seek counseling and support, emphasizing the challenge of coming to terms with a tragedy that resonates so closely. To many at Chico State, Alexandra was not merely a classmate—she was a friend, a coworker, and a vibrant light on campus.

Alexandra first started at Chico State in the fall of 2016, and after some time away, she returned to pursue her degree while also working at Enloe Health. Friends describe her as determined, passionate about science, and eager to utilize her education for the benefit of others. 

She was on track to graduate this coming spring, a significant achievement for which she had exerted significant effort. Those who loved her remembered her as a kind and thoughtful individual who made others feel appreciated and supported.
