The Traverse City community is in shock following the heartbreaking finding of 39-weeks-pregnant Rebecca Park, whose lifeless body was discovered on November 25, 2025, after being missing for 21 days. This sorrowful conclusion to a lengthy search was announced by Rebecca’s father, who revealed to 9&10 News that he encountered her remains while desperately looking for his daughter. This tragic event has left relatives, friends, and locals reeling as they navigate the grief of a life abruptly ended.
Rebecca, age 39, was last spotted on the evening of November 4, at approximately 11:30 p.m., as she entered the passenger side of a dark vehicle outside a family member's residence on South 21½ Road. Her mother, Courtney Bartholomew, was the final person to see her alive. As time went by without any news of Rebecca, the anxiety within the community intensified. A reward amounting to $12,000 was announced in hopes of generating information, but even with extensive searches and volunteer involvement, there appeared to be no progress.
The Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the Michigan State Police, organized an expansive search of the vicinity, although separate volunteer groups were operating without official law enforcement oversight. In the ensuing weeks, no crucial evidence emerged, making the case seem increasingly enigmatic.
Authorities have stated that, at this point, there is no concrete evidence suggesting that Rebecca was attacked. They have also refuted rumors circulating on social media regarding the finding of bloody garments. Information concerning Rebecca’s pregnancy remains private, adding to the unresolved questions in the aftermath of her untimely passing.
No suspects have been apprehended in connection to the case, and the sheriff’s office has promised to keep the public informed as the inquiry progresses. While the community continues to mourn, friends and family remember Rebecca as an expectant mother whose disappearance raised considerable alarm and whose absence will be profoundly felt in the years ahead.
With the inquiry still active, the Traverse City community stands together in their sorrow, holding on to hope for justice and searching for answers that can provide some semblance of closure to Rebecca’s family during this incredibly challenging time.
