Law enforcement has taken into custody 25-year-old Shanoyd Whyte, who is suspected of having a romantic relationship with the deceased, and he faces charges of first-degree murder that was planned in advance and involved a firearm.

Whyte was arrested on November 14, 2025, by police from Lauderdale Lakes, and he is presently detained in the county jail without the possibility of bail.
