Carson was positioned in front of the driveway at the moment when his grandmother, Kristen Anders, started driving her 2016 GMC Yukon. Local officials reported that the size of the vehicle restricted her visibility, and she allegedly did not notice Carson in front of her. Sadly, the child was struck and declared dead at the location.

An investigation by the Slidell Police Department revealed that Anders was under the influence of alcohol along with central nervous system depressants during the incident.
