Kerstin Walker Obituary; Officials in Ohio Look into Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident that Resulted in Death of Georgetown Resident

Sterling Township, OH — Law enforcement is looking into a heartbreaking hit-and-run case that led to the death of 30-year-old Kerstin Walker from Georgetown. This incident took place on the evening of November 5, 2025, when Walker was hit by a vehicle while she was walking along State Route 286, close to Upper Five Mile Road in Sterling Township. She eventually succumbed to her injuries on November 11 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) reported that the accident occurred at about 8:21 p.m., with a vehicle hitting Walker before leaving the area. First responders discovered her injured on the side of the road and swiftly transported her to the hospital via Air Care. Despite the medical care she received, Walker died from her injuries six days later.

Investigators with OSHP are currently focused on pinpointing the vehicle and driver involved in the deadly hit-and-run. During their inquiries at the scene, authorities found a side mirror from a vehicle that is thought to have belonged to either a Chevrolet or GMC full-size pickup truck. This information leads investigators to believe that the vehicle might show substantial damage on its passenger side and could be missing a mirror.

The OSHP is diligently examining surveillance videos from nearby residential and business areas and is also conducting interviews with potential witnesses. They are encouraging anyone who might have observed a pickup truck fitting the description or who saw anything unusual around the time of the incident to step forward. In a formal announcement, the Ohio State Highway Patrol conveyed their sympathies to Walker's family and assured the local community that they are committed to identifying the person responsible for this incident.

Residents in Sterling Township have shared their feelings of disbelief and sadness regarding the event, describing Walker as a warm and vibrant person who positively affected those she met. Friends have turned to social media to honor her memory and advocate for justice following her untimely death.

Local safety advocates are taking this unfortunate event as an opportunity to remind drivers to remain vigilant, particularly in rural settings and during nighttime when visibility can be poor. Authorities emphasize the necessity of stopping right away and notifying law enforcement in the case of a collision, as fleeing the scene constitutes a serious offense under Ohio law.

The OSHP has established a specific phone line for tips concerning this investigation and encourages anyone with relevant information to get in touch with the OSHP Georgetown Post at (937) 378-6191. Individuals who prefer to remain anonymous can still contribute essential information that may assist in the case.

As the investigation progresses, officials are dedicated to identifying the vehicle involved and providing answers to Walker's mourning family. Plans for a memorial or funeral service for Kerstin Walker have not yet been disclosed.

“This investigation remains active and ongoing,” officials from OSHP emphasized. “We will continue our efforts until all details are uncovered and those responsible are brought to justice. Our thoughts are with Ms. Walker’s family during this extremely challenging time.”
