Jeremy Lewis Hall Obituary: Corrections Officer Fatally Injured in Brutal Assault at River North Correctional Facility
GRAYSON COUNTY, Va. — The Virginia Department of Corrections along with the local community is grieving the heartbreaking demise of Corrections Officer Jeremy Lewis Hall, aged 40, who was fatally assaulted by an inmate at River North Correctional Center early on Monday morning.
Hall was a committed officer who had been part of the department since April 2024, dedicating his life to ensuring public safety and safeguarding others.
The event took place at approximately 7:53 a.m., during which Hall was allegedly attacked while carrying out his responsibilities. First responders promptly took him to a local hospital, where he was later declared dead. Additionally, two other officers sustained injuries during the assault but have since received medical care and been discharged.
Hall’s fellow officers recall him as brave, professional, and highly devoted to his role.
