A man lost his life following a shooting incident on Thursday evening at Greenbriar Mall, leading to a significant police response and an ongoing inquiry by the Atlanta Police Department.
Authorities were summoned to the shopping center in southwest Atlanta, situated close to Interstate 285, after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders quickly transported him to a local hospital in critical condition, but officials later confirmed that he succumbed to his injuries.
The name of the victim has not been disclosed at this time, as notifications to family members are still pending.
It is not clear if the shooting took place inside the mall or outside in the parking area. However, investigators have concentrated much of their work around the food court section of the mall, where police tape and numerous police vehicles were observed around the entrance.
