The faith community is grieving the tragic loss of Evangelist Alexander Wurm (53) and his daughter Serena Wurm (22), who sadly perished in a plane accident on the morning of November 10, 2025, while engaged in a humanitarian mission in Jamaica.

Evangelist Alexander Wurm and his daughter Serena tragically passed away

As stated by family and ministry members, the father and daughter were delivering aid supplies when the unfortunate incident took place. Both were characterized as individuals of great compassion, with lives dedicated to service, faith, and a love for humanity.

Alexander, affectionately called Alex, established Ignite the Fire Ministry, an organization focused on empowering youth throughout the Caribbean via missions, leadership, and evangelism. Over the course of his extensive ministry career, he traveled to many countries, sharing the messages of faith, compassion, and hope.

“He wasn’t only a man of prayer—he embodied it,” remarked a close friend. “He selflessly offered himself, always willing to listen, teach, and uplift those in his presence.”

Inspired by her father’s example, Serena was deeply engaged in humanitarian initiatives and programs aimed at youth outreach. Her warmth and lively spirit made her a beacon of light and support for many. Together, they exemplified a legacy of courage and selflessness that influenced countless individuals.

Evangelist Wurm leaves behind his wife, Candace, along with two children — James (17) and Christiana (20).

As tributes come in from around the globe, many have referred to Alexander and Serena as “lights of faith and love,” whose influence will keep inspiring others.

Their ministry, Ignite the Fire, posted a message on its official website www.ignitethefire.ky, encouraging followers to commemorate their memory by continuing their mission of generosity, compassion, and faith.

May the souls of Alexander and Serena Wurm find peace, and may their legacy persist in the lives they have enriched.
