Delaware County Grieves the Passing of Sheriff Tony Skinner in Devastating Road Incident

 Delaware County, Indiana — The community is grieving the loss of Sheriff Tony Skinner, who tragically lost his life early Wednesday morning while aiding a stranded motorist on Interstate 69 close to Yorktown. Sheriff Skinner, recognized for his unwavering dedication to service, was hit by a northbound tractor-trailer while parked to assist the stranded driver during the early hours between State Roads 32 and 26, near mile marker 247. Even with the swift actions of emergency responders, Sheriff Skinner did not survive his injuries at the location.



The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement showing their deep sorrow: “Today, our community and department mourn the loss of not just a respected leader but also a cherished friend.
