Tipton, KS — A heartbreaking incident on a rural section of Kansas Highway 181 near Tipton has left the close-knit community grieving the death of 84-year-old Mary Dubbert. The deadly accident took place late Tuesday morning when a northbound 1991 Buick Century made an attempt to overtake a semi-trailer in a designated no-passing area.
Mary Dubbert, who was a passenger in the semi, was confirmed dead at the site of the accident. Her spouse, 52-year-old Ronald Dubbert, who was driving the semi and is from Hebron, Nebraska, suffered severe injuries and was taken to Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit for medical care. Christianson, who had his seatbelt fastened, emerged from the crash seemingly uninjured.
