Corpus Christi Grieves Loss of Pedestrian Related to Brodrick Johnson on Saratoga Boulevard

The community of Corpus Christi is mourning the premature loss of 35-year-old Brodrick Johnson, who was tragically hit by a vehicle on Monday morning on Saratoga Boulevard, as confirmed by the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office.

As reported by the Corpus Christi Police Department, officers arrived at the 3900 block of Saratoga Boulevard around 4:49 a.m. after receiving notifications about a pedestrian being struck. Emergency responders discovered Johnson on the road and administered urgent medical assistance before taking him to a local hospital. Despite their dedicated efforts, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries, leaving his family, friends, and neighbors heartbroken.

Authorities indicated that Johnson was crossing the street outside of a designated crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle traveling west. The driver remained at the location and is fully cooperating with the investigation.

Traffic flow near the intersection of Weber Road and Saratoga Boulevard was briefly halted while the Corpus Christi Police Traffic Division carried out a thorough investigation and gathered evidence. The road was reopened by 8:30 a.m. once the area was cleared of any obstructions.

Senior Officer Antonio Contreras emphasized the significance of pedestrian safety, urging community members to be cautious when navigating streets, especially in regions without crosswalks or pedestrian signals.

“This heartbreaking incident serves as a clear reminder of the dangers pedestrians encounter every day,” Contreras remarked.

The loss of Brodrick Johnson has made a deep mark on his family and the wider community. Investigations into the circumstances of the accident are ongoing, and authorities encourage anyone with additional information to reach out to the Corpus Christi Police Department.

Johnson will be cherished for the joy and warmth he shared with those he interacted with, and his passing highlights the urgent need for awareness and caution on local roads.
