GREENVILLE, N.C. — The community of Greenville is grieving the heartbreaking passing of Antonio McCarter, age 43, who died on the afternoon of November 16, 2025, after an incident while trying to cross Arlington Boulevard adjacent to Fire Tower Road. He was hit by a truck that was leaving the Bojangles parking lot. Despite emergency medical personnel rapidly transporting him to ECU Health Medical Center, he could not be saved.
Antonio was a treasured member of the community, recognized for his compassion, friendly demeanor, and the positive energy he brought to those around him. Friends and neighbors reflect on his generosity and his eagerness to assist others. Greenville authorities conducted a probe into the occurrence and verified that it was an accident; charges related to the collision are not anticipated. The eastbound lane of Arlington Boulevard was shut down for several hours as first responders meticulously managed the situation.
