 BATH TOWNSHIP, OH — The Akron community is grieving the heartbreaking death of 18-year-old Elijah Wells, who passed away Thursday morning after suffering serious injuries from a mass shooting at a party over the weekend. Elijah, remembered for his cheerful personality and generous nature, lost his battle for recovery, as confirmed by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.


The unfortunate incidents transpired late Sunday night at a celebration held at a rented two-story residence on Top O Hill Drive in Bath Township. The event, promoted on social media, swiftly descended into chaos when shots rang out inside the building. The situation left nine young individuals hurt, with authorities suspecting that at least four firearms were utilized by several shooters during the assault. Elijah was among the injured, enduring numerous gunshot wounds that ultimately left him in critical condition.

Elijah’s Struggle for Survival and His Family’s Heartbreak

Elijah’s relatives recounted the devastating details of his fight to stay alive. His mother, Alicia Wells, provided updates about her son’s health, explaining how medical staff had to manually assist his breathing, and he was put on life-support equipment. Elijah’s condition deteriorated as his kidneys began to fail, and one of his lungs collapsed. His sister, Brittany Wells, spoke about how Elijah had been laughing, creating music, and savoring life just a few days earlier, only for their reality to shift dramatically in an instant.
