Heather Crews St. Louis, MO Traffic Incident: Individual Identified in Fatal Hit-and-Run on I-70 West close to Adelaide

 Authorities have identified the person who lost their life in the hit-and-run incident on Interstate 70 close to Adelaide Avenue early Thursday as Heather Crews, a 38-year-old resident of St. Louis.


According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the tragic incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on October 2, 2025, when Crews crossed a barrier on the westbound lane of I-70 and began walking towards the highway. Investigators discovered video footage that shows she paused to let the traffic clear before attempting to cross the road.


While she was trying to cross, an unknown vehicle struck Crews and then fled the scene. Officials believe she may have been hit by additional vehicles after the initial impact. None of the drivers who were present stopped to help or stayed at the scene. Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced Heather Crews dead at the site.

Both Detectives from District 6 and Accident Reconstruction experts are engaged in investigating this case.
