One person was slain and another was charged with murder after a shooting incident occurred Monday at a Dollar General shop in Forkland, Greene County.
The deceased has been identified as Boris Moody, 31, of Forkland. Authorities discovered Moody at the store, where he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The Greene County Jail is holding 28-year-old Jamal Lee of Demopolis on a murder accusation; more charges are anticipated.
At the request of the Forkland Police Department, the inquiry has been taken up by the State Bureau of inquiry of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The probe is still ongoing. Upon completion, the SBI's findings will be forwarded to the 17th Judicial Circuit is district attorney's office.
