Active Shooter Situation, Lockdown Implemented at Clovis North and Granite Ridge Educational Institutions After Alleged Threat Linked to Clovis North High School Deadly Incident

Clovis North High School along with Granite Ridge Intermediate School were put under lockdown on Thursday afternoon while authorities investigated a reported threat, leading to a temporary halt of classes at both locations.

The Fresno Police Department stated that officers responded to a call at the Clovis North Educational Center around 1:40 p.m. after receiving information about a possible threat to the school.

A shared image features students inside a Granite Ridge Intermediate classroom sitting together in the dark with the lights turned off as both staff and students comply with lockdown protocols. As police worked to secure the premises, everyone at the school remained together in place, capturing the tense moments.

In a statement, law enforcement indicated that they suspect the situation stemmed from a telephonic threat to the school and that the lockdown was a precautionary measure. Officers conducted a thorough campus search in order to ensure everyone's safety and worked collaboratively with officials from Clovis Unified School District.

As of Thursday afternoon, there were no confirmed reports of an active threat on the premises, and there have been no reported injuries.

Parents and members of the community were advised to avoid the area while police completed their investigation.

Updates will be provided as more information emerges since this situation is still developing.
