In Webster Parish, sixty-three-year-old Eva Hunt lost her life in an apparent drunk driving accident.
Doyline resident Eva Hunt, 63, lost her life in a tragic collision in Webster Parish, and another woman was taken into custody on suspicion of vehicular murder.
The single-vehicle crash occurred on state Highway 518 at Posey Lane on Wednesday afternoon at around 1:35 p.m., according to Louisiana State Police. Tiffany Conley, 35, was driving a westbound Dodge Durango when it swerved off the road, struck an embankment, and overturned, according to investigators.
Hunt, who was in the front passenger seat, died at the scene from her injuries even though she was wearing a seatbelt. Conley had minor injuries and was sent to a neighboring hospital for treatment.
Troopers believe impairment was a contributing factor in the collision. Following a medical evaluation, Conley was charged with vehicular homicide and taken to the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
The cause of the crash is currently being investigated by investigators.
