Grimsby Fatal Shooting: Unknown Man Hurt, Active Shooter, Friday Night Suspect at Large

 The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is conducting an investigation into a shooting that occurred on Friday night on South Service Road near Kelson Road North, which has resulted in a heavy police presence in the area. Authorities are requesting that the public avoid the area.


At around 7:45 p.m., NRPS, Hamilton Police Service, Niagara EMS, and Hamilton EMS responded to reports of gunfire near the Grimsby/Stoney Creek border. According to the police, one person was shot and sent to a nearby trauma center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.


The suspect has not been apprehended. He was last seen heading west on South Service Road into Hamilton while dressed in black. No further details have been released to the public as of yet.

The investigation is being conducted by NRPS 8 District (Grimsby-Lincoln-West Lincoln). Detectives are urging anyone who may have been in the vicinity or who has dashcam or surveillance footage to come forward.
