A teenager from Naugatuck is killed in a horrible motorbike accident at Beacon Falls.
BEACON, CT — A teenage motorcyclist from Naugatuck died Friday morning after colliding with an SUV in Beacon Falls, according to state police.
Ethan Dane Viele, 19, was killed in a crash on Beacon Valley Road just before noon. At around 11:52 a.m., authorities were summoned to the scene of a collision between a car and a motorbike near 194 Beacon Valley Road.
Preliminary evidence from the Connecticut State Police indicates that a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a Naugatuck person, was traveling east on Beacon Valley Road approximately tenth of a mile east of the intersection of Beacon Manner Road. At the same time, Viele was traveling west on the same stretch of road on his motorcycle.
According to the investigation, the motorcyclist "encroached into the eastbound travel lane and hit" the Tahoe. In the collision, Viele was flung from his motorcycle. Emergency personnel took him to the hospital, but he was subsequently pronounced dead.
